Reading suggestions?

Hi,

I love to read and do read almost everyday.  Admittedly I don't read as much after having my two daughters but I am currently at a loose end when choosing my next book.

I enjoy reading a variety of genres but I am not too keen on sci fi.

Could you please help me out and suggest one book each?  (If the book is part of a series then feel free to let me know the series name as well)

I love finding new books I may not have even looked twice at in the past.

I just read awakening by Linda Hurley. It's on smashwords. It's my bestie's step mum's first book, and I totally loved it!!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern I finished it a few weeks ago. It is a little on the long side but it is really good!

I read really long non-fiction books.  I don't know if you're interested in that sort of thing.

I can really recommend The Falls by Joyce Carol Oates, that I recently finished.

I'm a big fan of Russian classics so I recommend, if you haven't read it, something by Dostoyevsky (my favourite is Crime and Pinishment, but he's got so many good books).

Also, if you can get your hands on him, he's the most famous Icelandic Writer Halldór Laxness. I read one book by him (Under the Glacier) and it was great!

also, i've studied Scandinavian literature so I could go on forever about that, but I don't know exactly where your interests lie and what you have read. i guess you can make a Goodreads account and fill it with stuff you've read and link it here so we can see what to recommend ^^
