Precious Pocket varients

I have a question about the Precious Pocket ponies. Which set is considered the normal release? The ones made in China (like my set) or the ones made in Hong Kong?

I recently discovered, in a post by Lady Pinwheel about a beautiful No Country Sweet Pocket, that Hong Kong Sweet Pocket has purple and pink hair. As the photo shows, mine has blue and pink hair. I had no idea there was a purple haired one.

Are there any other differences between the ponies in the pic and the Hong Kong version ponies?
I have none of the Hong Kong versions, so I can't make any comparisons

I have no PP ponies to compare right now so I'm no help, but I'll bump this for you.

There are only China versions of the Precious Pockets [other than the No Country versions of course] so the China versions you have are the normal versions. During the middle years of MLP Hasbro started shifting production to factories based in China so for some ponies in year 5 to 7 you get both China and Hong Kong versions. But by Year 8 and certainly by Year 9 when these girls were out all production was in China.

That being said the China made versions do have variants between releases - as seen with some other ponies from around this time such as Pretty Beat, Pina Colada, Tuneful and Baby Starbow - there is a hair colour difference between US and International releases.

Sweet Pocket was released in the US and Europe with the purple stripe but she was also released again in Europe with a blue stripe as well.

Mine is the euro blue stripe, but as her pink had faded to white, I always assumed she was faded from purple, lol!
