Is the battery compartment in a better location?
O.O I hope.

Problem?

Seriously, tho, I don't see what the big deal with the battery compartment is about. It's not like little girls know or care. And I've plenty of toys (the Sing-Along Care Bears that I mentioned earlier, plus the Actimates D.W. - remember that? - and a Blues Clues Periwinkle talking toy, plus a Gund teddy plush) that have their battery compartment in the butt. Plus, it's not too bad when the tail covers the place. Heck, there's even an extra rubber plug to conceal the screw hole!

And oh, she has a bobble-head. YMMV on whether this is a good thing because as it is, she looks weird with her head and body mismatched.

And her voice, well, I'll leave it to you to decide if it sounds more like Andrea Libman than the previous talking Pinkie toys, or less.

The location of the battery compartment is in an inappropriate location. They could've made her head be where batteries go or her back but her butt is the absolute last place batteries should be placed.

Well, maybe it's just me then, but I have come across many, many toys whose battery compartment is in the butt (some of which I've mentioned in my previous post). I agree that they could probably make it like the talking Celestia and Cadence in which the battery compartment is in the chest instead, however due to the toy's size this would cause problem with the design since the front of the pony is noticably narrower than the back- this would mean that the pony will probably only take triple-As if they follow this route (taking into account the space needed for the gears and motor to drive the legs), and well, it's a little known fact that triple-As can hold less power than double-As and will definitely drain on the toy faster. For the talking Celestia/Cadence (which does indeed use Triple-As, by the way) that isn't a problem since they have no motor driven parts, only LEDs (and modern LEDs use way less power than a flashlight bulb). But for this toy, it means Hasbro will be up for complains about the toy draining batteries like a hungry horse (forgive the pun).

As for taking off the head, well, no. The battery won't fit through there either, and it's worse than having the batteries in the butt to some cultures.

The only acceptable solution is, of course, make the toy larger. But then that would factor into the cost of the toy...

Anyways, here's a recording of the voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfNQAkCSm9A

YMMV on whether it sounds like Andrea Libman. For me, no, it sounds nothing like Madeline.

It DOES look a bit better with the tail in place. It probably just means that putting the batteries there WAS the only place they could put them. As for the audio, I can kinda see the resemblance to Andrea Libman.

Well, I think Hasbro pretty much painted themselves into a corner in this case. The size of the toy means that they only managed to barely squeeze in a space for the compartment of two double-A batteries. Had they made it larger by one more inch, they could have the battery compartment on the chest. The underneath of the toy (the usual favorite spot for toy designers to put the battery compartment) is also very narrow due to the stubbiness of the legs, and again, because of the size of the toy, is not really feasible to have the battery compartment there.
