Japanese Non-Takara Ponies?
« on: January 05, 2013, 05:35:40 PM »
I know about Takaras and the G1 keychains, but does Japan ever get ponies? I have been there twice and I may be going back for a while and I still want access to ponies. I know there are Toys R Us's in Japan but I never visited the one in my city. Anyone with experience pony-hunting in Japan know where to find them?

What are you looking for? G4s?

I know that G1s can be found in some of the second hand stores. And they had some G3/G3.5 UFO catchers a few years back. I kinda wonder if some of the places that sell spank/fairy kei stuff might have pony stuff (G1) too.

Tho' I haven't been there, I can't really say where specifically. :3 Good luck.

I've heard that used G1's in Japanese secondhand stores are crazy expensive, even in bad condition.  It's because they're really hard to find for sale.  In their culture, things you don't really want or need anymore are either given away or thrown away, and usually not sold.  So G1's were either passed down from child to child (and probably loved to death), or trashed in the garbage.  *shrug*  Anyway, that's what I heard.  But I guess it means that they did indeed have regular G1's in addition to Takaras (which, I think, weren't as successful).
Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

I am with banditpony...do you mean new in box, G4 ponies?

There have been a couple of threads asking about ponies in Japan...maybe one of these will perhaps help?

Any gen at all, I'm not too picky.

I haven't seen any ponies when I did go to Nakano Broadway, but that was a one-time trip. If I end up in Tokyo again I'll look (I'm probably going to be sent to the Tohoku area again.)

Thanks for the topic links and help! I'll browse around those.
