I love the designs of the ponies...but I REALLY wish they would have been bigger.  They are too danger small!!  How can you play with something that you have to use a microscope to look at??  Polly Pockets are getting bigger and ponies are shrinking!  The world has gone mad!!!

this post XD

Yeah G4s are adorable but too small! It's a shame because they're so beautiful but of course as some here say, the size permits more ponies on the shelf, yay!

I actually don't think it works as simply as getting smaller and smaller through the previous generations.

In comparison to the size and the amount of plastic used...G3 adults and babies are actually a little larger than G2. And while G3 is smaller than G1 the size differential isn't massive.

The jump in size has come with G4 so personally while I dont think we will see ponies as large as G1s again I also dont think its an indication that ponies will get smaller and smaller with further generations. Heck if they get smaller they may as well become LPS!

I think that yes it's firstly to ensure more money can be made from the line - in the simplest way a smaller product sold for the same price as a larger product should over time allow for better profits. Hasbro want the brushables at the low end of the toy price market so size has been a consideration and to ensure they are in that budget the production cost needs to be reduced.

I like the G4 playful ponies, even if they're a bit small, but I would still love to see more variety in the G4 fashion style releases (Cheerilee, maybe? The CMC? Any non mane 6/princess ponies will do!). That way, the people who like the larger G4s can have larger ponies, and the people who like the smaller G4s can have smaller ones. I might even start collecting fashion sized ponies myself if big H did that. I understand it would probably be too costly for both Hasbro and collectors, but I can dream, can't I?

Anyone else have an image in their mind of G5/G6 being Squinkie sized?  Or is that just me?  :silly:  (and did my Ipad just recognize the word "squinkies" and yet still highlight it?)

I've gotten used to the g4 size but I'm still not fond of it.  And I like cute, tiny things!  But not my ponies, darn it.

I don't have G2 babies to compare with XD

I can say this... G4s are a BIG jump from size comparison in adult ponies... excluding the Princesses and Shining Armor. And I don't have any of my G4 babies out to compare with the other babies xD

In retrospect, the G3 babies look a bit.... creepy ... like an alien.
