Mico Nonet makes really nice quiet music, here's a track from their record 'Marmalade Balloon'; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=266TITqGAWA
Brian Eno's work with procedural and minimalist music is good when you need something passive, it's music to listen to when you don't want to listen to music; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfKcu_ze-60
Shine has some really chill tracks on their record 'The Common Station', very laid back music with a female vocalist; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejX6lNfjvAQ
I like this track by A Produce, called 'The Golden Needle', it's very easy to listen to, in one ear and out the other; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC7GFQgXgHE

I listen to a lot of minimalist, drone, and ambient music. I can't listen to music all the time, I'm into music, not like 'boy I sure do listen to a lot of music!', I do, but my trade is audio engineering, mostly with music. I play upright bass, and write and arrange regularly. Sometimes I don't want to listen to a track and pick out the time sig, the tempo, key, chord progression, or anything like that. It's inevitable that I will, my brain can't not do it. Sometimes I just want something freeform, some noise, something that doesn't conform to the usual rigour of music theory, which is where things like Liquid Mind, Stars of the Lid, Harold Budd and other crap that gets thrown into the 'new age' bins at record stores get into my listening rotation.

For calm I usually listen to hawaiian music by Keali'i Reichel. Usually when I'm driving to calm me.

Marble Zone remix:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7N2dYJ32fo

I often fall asleep to this one.  Actually, I have a playlist dedicated to it, where it plays five times in a row.

I agree with many of you that Enya is a great one to relax to. I also like Vitas, a Russian singer. Some of his songs make me relax. Andrea Bocelli is anther soothing artist.

And believe it nor not, Depeche Mode. Not all of their songs are relaxing, but something about their music calms me.

Marconi Union's "Weightless," designed (by SCIENCE) to be the most relaxing song. I listen to it when I'm upset or anxious, or when I can't sleep.

This will sound strange but when I am in a foul mood I play pink floyd  that make me calmer and happier.
