I don't know what is happening, I brought and paid for an item from Hong Kong a little over 3 weeks ago. No problems, its an overseas order, so I expect it to take a while.

Today I notice this on my ebay purchased page -

"This listing was removed by eBay. If you already paid for the item, we recommend that you wait 10 days from the expected delivery date to see if the item arrives. If you did not pay, you are no longer obligated to pay for this item. If you have a problem with the purchase, you can resolve the problem by filing a claim through our resolution centre."

I have never come across this before. I have opened up a paypal case, just to be safe, but have not escalated it to a claim. I have also messaged the seller letting them know the reason why I have done this, not to scam them out of money, just I am worried that I am going to have no item + be out of cash for it.

Of course, if it arrives I will immediately shut the case. Has anyone else ever had this issue before?

I am not really worried about the money, I just really want this item, it's something I have been thinking about buying for some time and don't want to be dissapointed if it never actually arrives.

I can't post up a link, because the listing has been pulled, and at this point I prefer not to post the seller's unsername anyhow, as they may be perfectly legit, and I don't wish to give them a bad name over a misunderstanding.

Hmm.. it sounds to me like the seller has had their ebay account suspended or shut down. This kind of message appears when that happens. There may possibly be another explaination so:   Do they still have other items listed?  How is their recent feedback looking?  :what:  I wouldnt close the case yet - you did the right thing messaging the seller too.  Have you had any response from them?...

I've had this happen before to some ebay purchases. They've all had different outcomes but all good. Either the item arrived anyway or I got a refund.

One reason is as @Ringlets said, account suspended. Also, the listing is incorrect for some reason and gets pulled.

Follow the advice as @Ringlets said and check if the seller still exists. Also use both Ebay messaging (Ebay will then have a record of you tryin to contact the seller) and the Paypal email address to try to contact the seller.

Good luck!
 >_<^.^

Yeah, well, the seller is now accusing me of trying to scam them out of the item. They are still on ebay, and still have items up. I am not too sure if the item was pulled due to an error or what, but I know even after explaining myself well to them, even if there is a language barrier, that I will not be dealing with this seller again.

I understand why they would be anxious with a customer opening a case on them, but I have not escalated it to a claim, nor will I if the item does arrive. I am not the sort of person to do such a thing, I know many people out there do, but accusing someone who seems to be being reasonable of trying to scam you out of an item is not the best way to do business.

I was polite in my reply, but let them know I was not happy with their accusations, and that if the item did arrive and I was happy, I was going to purchase more, but after the way they have treated me I will not be.

I just hope it gets here soon, I have had items arrive from the same country weeks ago that I purchased after this. I know our customs can be funny here too, and hold things up for no real good reason at times.

I just hope this person has actually posted it off, and that it arrives. Going through their feedback, some items have never arrived, although their rating is still quiet good for the amount of sales they have done, over 99% positive, and selling that much you are bound to have an item go missing here & there in the post.

I will see what happens and just hope for the best outcome :)

My ex had that happen as a seller when ebay accused him of selling fake items, just because a competitor reported it to ebay. I guess this might be the case here too because the seller is from HK.

I hope your item arrives soon Paints.  I am sure your seller was maybe disappointed you opened a case but you told them why?  They should have understood at least to some degree.  Plus if ebay pulled the listing she would have be notified, so she shouldn't really have been surprised.

I would maybe send her a message back and explain your situation again and maybe a copy of the email you received regarding the item. And I suppose you can reassure her that once the item arrives you will close the case even though you have already told her this.

i had this issue two times, both from china and i recieved both of my items just a few days later. i wish you best luck that it will be the same for you! ^^
a friend had this too, but with clothing, instead of wigs(my cases), she filled the claim after a few days and it was good, because it never arrived.
good luck! >.<

Just a little update.

The buyer did refund me after we passed a few messages back & forth, they agreed that they thought I was honest, and asked me to promise I would send the money back if the item did in fact turn up.

Anyhow, Christmas eve it FINALLY arrived, not their fault, just poor postage times with this time of year. I got in touch as soon as I got home and asked for their paypal addy, which when I recieved immediately sent over payment as a "gift" option, so they weren't out the fees, or having the worry of me opening another case.

Anyhow, although it was a long wait, it finally worked out in the wash :) I would buy from them again, great product, and really can't blame them for the postage times etc.
