Botched Blind Bag Paint?

yeah this seems to be a common thing. The first wave was so pristine in comparison!

Even down to paint thickness! I can see the body colours through the paint of the yellow-bag wave, but I can't through any of the first wave ponies. The glitter ones don't count since all they have are eyes/symbols and then a ton of glitter.
