My Tex's hat looks weird

So I picked up a bag full of ponies today for $20 (yay!)

Big Brother Tex was in the bag but his hat looks strange, Does anyone know what is going on here with his hat?  Is this is a printing error?  Should I try to clean it off? 

I might be selling Tex on ebay later does this hurt the value?  He also came with his bandana and is in good condition (no cancer just needs cleaning)

I can tell you that does not look like regrind in any way so we can rule that out.

Tex with bandana and hat in great condition would go for around $30-35 however I'm not sure how the mark on the hat would affect that price.

Both me and my friend agree that looks like a printing error on his hat... I don't know much about pricing though

He looks quite handsome and the hat looks kinda cool (and yeah, like a factory bleed). Not a bad grab there!

I don't believe the bleeding of text would affect the value, either.  He looks quite handsome.

I agree with Party that with his accessories he should be around the $30-35 mark. An accessory is no different from a pony, if its got staining or damage it will effect value - and unfortunately someone will likely be unwilling to pay the same price for something with damage as they would for something they could purchase with no issues. However, I do think it only brings the price down a tiny amount perhaps $25-28

The hat could be a factory bleed issue when printing or staining from something completely unrelated that the hat was pressed against or exposed to - but the almost identical colour from the print suggests factory.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I feel better about his hat being a factory defaut.  

I have a lot of cleaning to go though for the rest of the ponies in the bag.
