Friendly chat - what is your favorite pony gen for TOYS and why?

G1. Honestly, if I liked the facial features of G3 more, they'd probably tie but G1 and G3 have the best variety. Seeing as I usually like a pony automatically if it's symbols are either astronomy or rainbow related, G1 is my favorite gen even for toys. (there's a lot) However, varying prices and conditions can be a huge turn off for me sometimes.

G3. They strike the best balance between "look like actual horses" and "look like friendly, accessible characters." G1s are too "horsey" to really look expressive, and G4s are so cartooned-up that they're barely identifiable as equines. G2s are just straight-up oddly proportioned, and G3.5s appear to have emerged from my darkest nightmares.

I would definitely have to say that I absolutely adore G2's.  They are just graceful and beautiful.  Plus there colors and accessories are so awesome.  And don't get me started on the playsets.  They also have adorable baby ponies. 

That being said that doesn't mean that I don't love the other gens.  I love them just not as much as g2s.  It would have to be G1, G3.5, G4, and then G3.

G1 is definitely my favorite.  Maybe not every set was a winner (Drink 'n Wet babies, ugh), but there was so much variety and so many beautiful ponies. 

G3s are my second favorite.  They looked appropriately pony-ish and I loved their ears, but their heads were  overly large in a lot of molds, I hated the heart/star in their eyes, and the lack of unicorns and pegasi means they can never be my favorite generation.  (Out of hundreds of ponies, only seven unicorns?  And not a single baby unicorn.)
