What is this organization you speak of?

My ponies are mostly in an underbed box (lack of space, alas), but they get rotated out onto my one little display shelf every so often.  How they land depends on how I find them in the box, and whom I get my hooves on first, and who hasn't been on show in a while.

But I also bend the "one shelf" rule by having ponies on spa recovery here, there, and a little bit of everywhere I can. :ninja:

I arrange them by generation in the order of release purely for the sake of keeping track of them all.  The exceptions are the flutter ponies who live on the "Flutter tree" my husband made for me, the sea ponies who live in this awesome wooden shoe rack I found while garage saling one day.  There are exactly enough spots for the baby sea ponies and their floats and the adults with shells on the bottom....but I digress.  My windy wing ponies are displayed on little wooden shelves that run along the border of my pony room so their wings don't get crushed.  It looks like they're flying:).  I'm constantly reorganizing and trying to find a better way to display them all.  It's one of the best parts of collecting!

I sort mine first by gen, and then release order.

I have each gen in a different drawer, except for G2, they're with the G1s since I only have two of them. Also, all the Ponyvilles have their own drawer. The customs are in a special secluded place where their mod podge smell won't stink up the other ponies.

My G1s are mainly organized by country, release order then by set. Some of the babies are out of order because they are on a smaller shelf.

I don't have many of the other generations so they are all on one shelf.

I arranged mine in sets. Sort of by year. I kinda ran out of space at the end of putting them all together. So I went by my most favorite sets. Though I still feel I wish I could of kept all the sets together. I feel like I need a third glass case to put them all in ><

Hehe...I keep my wingers next to my wingers:)
No really, I try my best to group my ponies together; like Starry Wings with Starry Wings, High Flyer with High Flyer etc.

Well, we just moved, and I get a pony room (YAY!), so the organization hasn't been sorted out yet.

I know I won't be able to get all of them out of tubs yet, but generally I group by gen/type (so G3s with G3s, but the Ponyvilles will be separate, etc), and then favourites together and the rest however they go.

My customs and special ponies (Punzie, Mimic, Nirvana, etc) are in my china cabinet.

My G3s are by color.  The rest... well, I can't organize them really.  For the G4s, since they're all MIB, I just have to move them around to make sure they're visible.  I have only a few G1's and G2's so I just stand them side by side in a random order.

My year and then by set....so the top shelf on the first book case has the original 6 CF and FF and then we move forward like that through the years. After the UK releases then I do the same with the Euro/UK ponies from year and set. Playsets are displayed above the book cases :) and Pony wear at the very end.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
