My first custom

I hope its alright to post it here, but I thought I would post pics of my first custom as I make it. Its a dollar general pony, and a mcdonalds pony is with it to show the difference in sizes.

When I went out thrift shopping today I found a hair extension thing in a really bright blue I loved for uber cheap..now I gotta figure out how to untangle it without breaking too much hair x.x

Well I finally got to it..I broke down and ordered a tool from ebay..makes hairing suuuuper easy! However I broke a needle already with a stupid mistake -.- I'm just glad it came with an extra needle! Here's my pony so far!

Yeah, you quickly learn to cut your own needles with this hobby.  Pretty colors.

Thanks! The main color is actually a wig I got on clearance from walmart  :lol: the highlights are from a fleamarket thing I pretty much got it for free. I got the line of holes filled now but it didn't have much in the hair department lol so I gotta figure out where I need to make holes

I believe I'm done with her head, I need to do her tail still far as rehairing but I need to figure out how to cut a hole out for her hair.

Super cute so far!  I love the colors!  I'd suggest using an exacto knife or a similarly super-sharp knife to cut a tail hole :)  Was there no hole already or was it plugs like there was on the head?

Ah thank you for the suggestion! I believe dad has some maybe I could borrow one lol.

It had plugs in it, and granted I could do a tail with plugs. However the tale is curled and would be hard to do as plugs without making it a super short tail lol.

Gotcha :)  Sounds like she's going to have a super thick tail!  That's always a good thing in my book!
