Remembrance Day

Just wanted to take a moment as we approach 11am (Eastern DST) to put in a bit about Remembrance Day.  My great-uncle died in the Battle of the Somme in the First World War; my grandfather fought in the Second World War - he was almost sent on the dangerous Murmansk Run, but a last-minute change of plans sent him to Morocco instead, and he lived to tell the tale.

Though they're no longer with us, my thoughts are with them and all the other brave veterans and soldiers whose sacrifices made it possible for us to live in the world we know today.  Thank you.

Happy Veterans Day! My brother was in the milatary a decade or so ago. Luckily he never went to war.

Rememberance day.  My grandfather served in WW2 and my brother was a part of the military for awhile.

It always has me holding onto those memories a bit closer

May we always remember!  Both my grandfathers served in the Korean War, and I have a few friends who are currently overseas.

both of my grandpas served one was in the navy the other was a tail gunner in world war II . He did not like to talk about it though.
