do the new barbie clothes fit barbies from the 1980s? WTB 80s clothes cheap

hey all-

 So i dug out my old barbies.. I am not that INTO  barbie, and there condtion is not great  but they are sentimental to me.   However they are mostly naked as  like most  children , i usually striped my barbies down LOL   swaped there clothes and then lost them!

 that said,  i feel kinda bad for them.. i never had much barbie clothes anyway. 

I was wondering,   would the clothes from the new era barbies fit them?

It is proving difficult to track down there 1980s wardrobes LoL so i might just get them some dresses next time i am out shoppin' if new fashions  fit.

 I am not about to spend a fortune on these girls so  anything that goes with them that is cheap, or for trade let  me know. I don't really collect barbie, butjust feel bad that my childhood girls are nekkid LOL

I don't have any clothes for sale but the new Barbie clothes don't fit old Barbie, sadly. New Barbie has a slimmer bustline and possibly wider waist. The new Ken clothes just fit 80s Ken but new Ken is slimmer too (the new Ken clothes do fit original 60s Ken though). And new Skipper clothes will fit 80s Skipper (well 80s Skipper clothes fit new Skipper so I figured it goes both ways). 

Sorry, that was more info than you asked for but I figured others might want to know too.

It depends, but usually newer Barbie clothes fit '80s Barbies tight in the bust and loose in the waist. You could run into problems in the hip area also. Newer Barbies have a more natural bust-waist-hip ratio, so their clothes are actually a bit bigger than vintage Barbie's stuff. At least that has been my experience.

oh thanks every one for replies!    at least i know what to look for now LOL i may just hunt for an 80s clothing  lot or something.. but maybe skipper can get updated to the 2012 fashion LOL 

 What about jazzie? anyone know about what fits her?

oh and if i want to restore them at all , can i clean barbies the same way i clean ponies or MH?

a couple might need rehair, so i am wondering are they  saran? or what type of hair to get for 80s barbie?

I clean my Barbies the same way - I just start with soap and water and shampoo/conditioner for their hair like my ponies

Not sure what to use to reroot them though. I know you have to be careful taking their heads off as they've got a little ball doohickey and if it gets broken it can be really difficult or even impossible to fix without any mobility loss.

If Jazzie's the doll I'm thinking of (kind of a teen body with a jointed waist, right?) newer clothes should fit her pretty well. I have two that I think are Jazzie bodies, and they're dressed in "new" Barbie clothes.
