Ebayer misqouting shipping.
« on: October 23, 2012, 03:25:34 PM »
Hi again guys,

I bid on that dress I was crying about, but before I bid I noticed there was no international shipping option so I did the ask a buyer thing and it said 'contact about international shipping'. So I did.

This was the buyers response.

"Dear _____

Hi. Yes i can. It will cost 15$
The dress is in condition.
Thanks. "

so after that I bid on the dress and now she's upped it to $18. So I instantly emailed back (without really thinking that part though) asking 'I thought you qouted me $15?"

Was I in the right? Or was I in the wrong and should just cough up? I know it might not be much to some, but when someone qoutes me a price they should stick to it. I asked her this 4-5 days ago.  So I feel she's had plenty of time to actually check and message me or she would have checked properly since I'ved asked her.

You're not in the wrong, $3.00 is not a lot of money, but I'd like to know why the change on the shipping =P

I've learned to not trust the shipping cost page of my dear mail service, it's crazy, and sometimes gives a way lower price than what it really is, and other times way higher (OK, $2 more or less on difference, both high and low).

At least, if she responds let's try to know if there was a: "I was mistaken... it was a little more because of insurance/tracking number/something else."  Or I checked the final weight for it to be shipped.

Good luck with your seller!

Well it wasn't on the page, she told me herself in  message that it was. I just hate it when sellers change their mind on me =-=;;

That's weird =S

Let's hear how she responds to you about this =S

I know when my MO pages gives me an incorrect amount, I end up paying the missing part myself (if it's less than $1.00), or contact the buyer to inform the correct cost =S

It's just weird how your selled changed the shipping cost.

I worried for nothing. Apparently they got my order mixed up with someone else, now they changed it back. So I paid before they changed their mind xD

I'm glad to hear it got straightened out for you and was just a mistake.  :ohyeah:

It can happen especially if they wanted buyers to email them for a quote and they had several items end at once.  But the important thing is she realized her mistake and let you know before you paid.

Agreed. She had plenty of time to respond to your question, by the way. Kinda wondering why she went into silence.

Edit: oh, hihi, you got it resolved ;) glad to hear!
