:huh:I'm  gonna die of boredom waiting for my Soom Chrom to sell. What is the deal? I sold 5 ponies last week though. In 2009 & 2010 I sold 9 bjds, 8 of them online, so I just don't get it. That was during the recession also.

where are you trying to sell it?
the only place that it will probably sell in a timely manner is on den of angels.
ebay is another okay option if that's not where you're trying to sell now, but it's not your best bet since it's not usually the first place that people go to look when trying to buy a doll secondhand.

Chrom just isn't one of the bigger SOOM must-haves, I've noticed.

I don't know. Thing is I don't have an account on den of Angels , so you know how they are about time frames to access the marketplace anyway. I think they should at least let you access it as a buyer immediately, if you are just looking to buy. My Chrom has human feet, and I really need to sell him to buy another bjd. I sold one of my Island Doll bjds to get groceries, my LoongSoul bjd to pay on the rent & my Dollzone bjd to pay Comcast, now I need to sell Chrom to buy another bjd I want. My daughter has him listed on eBay. I have lowered the price down to 325, think it's ridiculous. Thanks for the input.

I know that accounts on DoA aren't the easiest thing to get, but it's well worth it to try and get one at least to have in the future in case you need to try and sell a doll again.

I second knibitz's question about the calves being a different resin color, they look significantly different in the sales photos.
also about the paperwork, if you have the paperwork and can post pictures of the doll with his proper paperwork people might be a little more inclined to buy.

you might also want to consider taking him outside in natural light for better photos 'cause honestly people aren't going to want to buy something when they can't really tell what color it actually is.

You're going to have a real hard time selling him with those miss-matched legs (Knibitz, Elanore they are WS. They're Bazael legs and he was only available in WS or grey). There's also the fact that there's a lot more Soom's floating around nowadays with all of the Special Orders they've done recently. I don't know if it's just me but the SO dolls seem to fetch a slightly lower price still than the first release monthlies. Also selling at a low price+selling on ebay+no evidence of papers will set off warning bells for a lot of people. I know he's legit and genuine but you need to put as much evidence as you can of that in your photographs.

EDIT: If you want a DoA account then I can invite you. Just PM me your email.

I have his papers & always ship papers or cards with the bjd, so it's not a problem, as for the lighting I can see the lower leg color difference completely fine in the photos, but if you read the listing the legs are explained in the exact words of the original seller lifted from her e-mail to me when I asked her a question pertaining to listing him . In the description it clearly explains the color difference.I have had buyers in the U.K. ask about buying the head because of high overseas shipping, but with eBay's holding funds, I'm not going to ship overseas , just heard here of someone waiting 9 days for customs clearance. I'm surprised, the economy must have gotten worse since the last time I sold my bjds online. I've just never had this much trouble selling. In 2009-2010 I sold 8 , 7 of those online & in 2007 I sold 11 all online. Has the economy gotten worse since 2010? Anyway I can have a photo taken of the box, the paper & even the Soom zippy thing. If I can't get enough for him to buy the doll I want, there's no point. Thanks about the papers, don't know if it'll help, but we'll see. I bought him from a lady in the U.K. & had him shipped fed-ex to avoid problems with customs cause fed-ex seems to get right through.

We've taken the certificate, booklet, box & zippy pillow photos to relist. I like Chrom, but I am dying to buy this other bjd, that's the problem. thanks

I read your ebay listing and it just said "lighter resin" which made me think a lighter normal skin from a different year, rather than "white skin"
I just glanced over it though, I may have read wrong :/

I copied the exact description & explanation of the legs from the e-mail from the original seller, She claims the legs faded, go figure. The leg thing doesn't bother me, it's just I want that other bjd/. I have to go with her description as I have never owned a Soom before.

The market is extremely soft right now. Items are sitting forever before they sell. I had a Volks SDGr bod for sale at a stupid-low price not long ago and it still sat for about two weeks. All I can tell you is be patient and make sure your price is reasonable, otherwise be prepared to camp for a while.

The economy has pretty much tanked since 2008...  everyone's sales are taking a huge hit and pony prices have fallen roughly 30%.

thanks for the new input, &   lovesbabysquirmy, sold 8 online in 2010, so I was asking has the economy gotten worse since 2010? I've given up on being able to get that other doll I want . I like Chrom & think the Soom bodies are to die for, but just wanted that other doll, & not going to sell my Island Doll Florian or my Illusion Spirit guy to buy him though. I sold two bjds on eBay to pay bills & sold one to my local friend. I might trade him , though I do love the Soom Gem body, lol.
