I often pay over retail... I only really regretted it once, and that was with the werecat twins. Besides that, I don't regret it at all.

So far no big spending over here. I think the bigest markup I've paid on a doll was my second signature Ghoulia. I really needed her stock for a project and it ended up cheaper to buy a whole new doll than trying to track down her stock pieces. I think I paid around $40 with the shipping. I'm still debating what to do with her. I want to be able to keep her in box and just use my loose one for her parts, but I hate having dolls that can't be displayed!

I have been fortunate enough to buy most of my dolls in stores, however I did buy DT Lagoona seperate from her hydration station as well as Signature Lagoona from arena members. I don't feel like I overpaid for either though!

Nodivision- I have a signature Ghoulia with loose limbs, is the one you were going to use for parts pretty sturdy limbs wise? Maybe we could trade? Mine has a beautiful face up, its just her limbs that a pretty loose.

I have been very lucky, my two most expensive MH dolls, SDCC Ghoulia and Howleen were gifts, one a birthday present from a good friend who attended the SDCC and got the con price and the other from a lovely online friend.  I am just so grateful to have friends like that as I would've never gotten Ghoulia otherwise and would've paid a high ebay price to get Howleen.

I think the most I paid was $24.99 before taxes for Rochelle because I wanted her badly when she came out and I wasn't finding her anywhere. I found out my TRU's restocking date and went when they opened.  If I had waited I could've gotten her for $19.99 on sale at Target like I did Venus.  Now Rochelle is everywhere!

Correction: I paid $75 for Gil not £75, and therefore at the time the conversion rate meant that was £54 :)

I think Internet prices for the dolls are ridiculously insane, as to be expected when people scalp products.  The retail prices on the dolls are already far too high for what I feel is "value".  Of course, were they to be made in the USA, I would be more than happy to buy MH dolls for $30-50 apiece.  *whistles as she walks away*  One of only many reasons why I just can't bring myself to buy what's on the shelves these days...

Totally see your point, I feel the same way, but for rare & signature dolls, I'm OK with paying higher than retail prices! I totally feel the same way as you though, although I don't mind where they are made, but I agree with prices!
