Tail ribbons

When I was a little girl, I never had tail ribbons on my ponies, and I still prefer to display my ponies without ribbons. I like the natural look. Now I am torn about what to do with the ribbons I have.
I just bought a Lady Flutter who still had her pink metallic ribbon on. I know that one must be pretty rare. I can't decide whether I should keep it with my other accessories, or just sell all my ribbons. I believe I have a flutter ribbon or two also, among a whole bag of regular ones. How much would a rare ribbon be worth?
I love collecting pony accessories, but it seems like it might be pointless to keep all the ribbons and never put them on the ponies.
What are your opinions on tail ribbons?

I dunno... I think they look so pretty when on display and that it can add to how special and complete the collection is when a tail ribbon is there.

However, I don't remember tail ribbons on my ponies! I'm not sure if that's because the ones I had simply didn't have them or because I was too busy getting down to playtime and brushing to bother with them. 

At any rate, I realize that every collector is different. At this point, it depends on the pony and how badly I want it to be as close to mint as I can get!

I love tail ribbons! When I don't have the original, I buy some from the crafts store. And during holidays I change all my pony ribbons to more festive ones. Maybe it's because I watched the cartoon so much as a kid, but I just think ponies look somehow more complete with the right color ribbon.

I'm not much on the accessories at all (dodges thrown fakies).  For me, the hair ribbons (and combs, and all the other bits and bobs) were just chaff.  I'm happy for them to have new homes with collectors who fancy them.

Guess I'm a steak-only collector!  (No side dishes, just the meat - )

I love the tail ribbons! I don't have any of the originals, but I would love to give yours a loving home, if you ever wanted to get rid of them

I don't have any tail ribbons, but I've always loved the idea and hope to eventually get my all my G1s their ribbons.

All my ponies have their ribbons But then again I am a completionist when it comes to ponies - I need a pony to have everything lol!

If you don't collect them, don't display them and are 100% certain you won't regret selling them, then you will certainly find a market for them - most of the metallic flutter ribbons are $5-6 with winger ribbons $7-8.

I love ponies with ribbons! But i'm a fluffy tails geek because i wear also ribbons and such things in my hair! Or rose clips in the color of my clothes.....

I love tail ribbons (and the bandanas for the Boys), but I think I'd go crazy if I started trying to collect them too.  I've just made a few of my own.

Thanks for your opinions everyone! I need to do some more thinking to make sure I wouldn't regret selling them, since I do love everything pony! I do think ponies look pretty with ribbons, I just can't help wanting to display them like my childhood memory of my ponies without ribbons.

I don't have many of the original tail ribbons, but I love ponies with tail ribbons......
Collecting all the original ribbons would probably be hard to find AND expensive as they are now so old!

I have ribbons on all my ponies - colour etc. depends on THEIR colour - body, hair etc.
I always have a ribbon in their tail when I sell ponies too.....they have usually been to "The Pony Parlour" when for sale - so a ribbon means they are looking their best.

It is really a personal choice to have or not to have a ribbon....then to have or not to have the ORIGINAL ribbon!

I love tail ribbons I don't think I have any original ones (not sure) but I bought ribbon at the craft store and all my G1s and G3s have ribbons in their tails
