Ebay Store Owners - Some Help Please
« on: October 16, 2012, 08:53:24 AM »
I recently opened an Ebay store because well, I want to see if it will be more profitable and be less fees overall. Now I know they have that generator but actually it's not much help at all.

Now that I have a store open, is there a way to see how much on fees I am saving on the final value? It seems like I can't find this info anywhere. I know there is a graph somewhere that says how much you pay for final value fees when you have a store versus when you don't...but it's a lot a math when you factor in the top-seller, store and different category final value fees.

I was wondering if there was a place on Ebay's sellers reports or something in my account that says "these items sold this week and your discount is this much". I've been searching for a while and can't seem to find it. Some kind of summary or item by item would be great. Any of you lovely store owners know?

I honestly do not think there is a way to see a break-down for each week/day/etc. itleast I have never found one.  They only let you know what your 20% discount is at the end of your billing cycle.  The same as if you were just a regular Top-Rated Seller without a store.

I am not sure what your Selling Manager may have looked like before you opened the Store.  I have never not had my store to know exactly. But the only thing I have found that even remotely gives you some sort of a breakdown is under your Account Tab.  If you click Sales Reports it gives you a breakdown of ebay and Paypal fee's for each month plus your sales growth.

And there is also a section in your Seller Account that you can click on all activity.  And that gives you a break down of all your fee's but not your discounts.  I am sure though if you have been playing around with it you have seen all those.

Thanks for answering. Part of the problem is that under the "fees" tab there is just a blank page that says "processing"?!

It's been like this for 24 hours whereas before I had a store it was all immediate and showed the shipping & payment fees. However, as you mentioned, I do think it didn't show the 20% discount until later.

But now it's not showing anything which is making it very hard to keep track! I have to go to the sales page and do all the math myself.

Maybe this is a fluke and it will fix itself? I certainly hope so since I would like to be sure I'm being charged correctly.

Well, can you tell me something cause I can't find anything that specifies. Does the new 7% rate for store owners apply to the shipping fees that you have to pay? Or is it only on the actual item?

Are you asking about the 7.5% FVF's on an item?  Because if so it is based on the total amount of the sale which includes the shipping cost.  And that rate is only good on items up to $50.  The higher the amount of the item the more fee's they tack on.  So if your item reaches let's say between $50.01 and a $1,000 it is 7.5% of the first $50 then 4.0% of the remaining balance of the total amount of the sale.  Having a store is great but they still nickel and dime you to death.

No kidding, I'm fuming right now because I can't find anywhere where they are charging me the correct FVFs. I got my first invoice while I have a store and all the fees are just like my top rated seller fees. It's not 7% and I'm very upset.

Thanks for explaining the fees on shipping. I always thought they did it separately with different rates for some reason. Now I know they just do it as a total. Never put that together before...
