Ebay shipping problem

Okay so I just bought an item off ebay, in the listing the seller said that express shipping was available (which is what I want). So I went to go pay for the item but.. there was no option for express, just economy shipping? This is only my second time purchasing something off ebay, so I'm not sure if I did something wrong that caused this to happen.. :P Or maybe its the seller's mistake? I'm not sure what I should do..

I would ask the seller for an invoice that corrects the shipping price for you. I had to do that recently with something I bought. I sent them a message through ebay that I wanted priority mail and then I did an invoice request and put it on the invoice also.  That way they were alerted twice about what I wanted. It all went fine for me.  What has happened is that when they did the auction they only picked one shipping quote and didn't add a second option before it was listed.

Tula has a great suggestion.  I would just email the seller and have them send you a new invoice that reflects the express shipping charge.  I am sure your seller will work with you since you have already been in contact with them previously concerning it.

But be aware if you are purchasing an item outside of Canada that express shipping is very costly.  I just want to point that out because you said this is the second time you have purchased off ebay.

Shortly after I posted this thread I decided to ask the seller if EMS shipping was available on this item. However a couple hours later I got a little bit impatient and decided against it and paid for the item. I also sent them a message back saying that I no longer needed EMS.

This morning I received two messages on Ebay. One asking me if I still want EMS, and that it'd be $10. Another telling me that they charged the $10 to my paypal.. And I also received an email from the post office saying the item has been shipped via EMS. So... I guess they never got my second message then?  :huh:

It just seems a little bit odd that they asked me if I wanted ems, then suddenly sent it and charged me even though I never confirmed.. Anyways my next question is should I just pay the $10 through paypal? Or should I ask them to send me a new invoice through ebay with the updated cost?

I hope this makes sense, I'm typing this out as fast as I can before I go to work. :P

I don't see how they charged it to your Paypal because you would have to approve the payment.  Unless do you mean they sent you an invoice for the $10?

If you have already paid they can not send you a new invoice unless they refund your original payment.  They can send you an invoice though for just the shipping charges.  But I am not sure why you would already get a notice that it has shipped if you didn't pay it already.

I honestly think your best bet is to contact the seller and wait for a reply before you pay anything more.  Just to be sure!
