dragging my heels getting started on it today... one more side to go with the binding... hate working the binding, its thimble-territory. but im making myself finish putting that on before i can go on tot he more fun areas. =P

but on the plus side, ive discovered XBMC has Max Headroom in it =D yay for warm fuzzy nostalgic background noise! :lovey:
ill post an update when the binding is finished. :hot:

much belated progress shots. so far ive finished putting the quilt binding on it (the ivory trim around the edges), ive outlined the crusaders cross and the borders, ive put the rosebuds into the smaller crosses and split the main panels in the smaller crosses, ive done 2" horizontal "gills" in the borders of the large cross, the feathered feet on the big cross, and im currently working on the feathered cables in the main panels of the large cross. finished one so far- 3 to go! i tried to take some clean pics, but the stitchwork doesnt like to show too well for the camera in different lights so well see how well they turned out!

full pic- yay quiltbinding! i was so happy when that was finally done... hate thimble work! its such a relief to have those raw edges capped off tho. no more worrying about fraying or stuff sticking to the batting!

cant see it too well, but the horizontal 'gills' are along the sides of the main cross. helps give the cross shape and take up loose space with simpler stitchwork.

the first stretch of the feathered cable. hard to see it in this pic tho. took me about a day and a half to do this bit. coulda prolly knocked it out in one day if i didnt feel like death.

closer shot of a part of the feathered cable.

one of the feathered 'feet' on the big cross.

brighter pic of the foot.

split the center of the legs of the smaller cross around the rosebud. rosebud is actually outlined with a true cross also, but its hard to notice cause i actually have a seam there too. not too important but it irritates me haha

and finally the rosebuds in the smaller crosses. =] fun and suprisingly easy to do. ill have to use that design again sometime.

if anyone wants to see any of the 'stencils' i used just let me know and ill dig them out of the laptop.

back to work!
