Craft show pricing
« on: October 07, 2012, 08:35:22 PM »
Hey guys! As some of you know my church is having a craft show/bizar to raise money for our different programs.  I've been working on a few projects for it.  I had an idea to make these little earrings for the Moms out there. So I thought i'd get some opinions. :)

Those are too cute. Honestly I think you could get a little bit more than $1 for them. Maybe not alot more but still. I'd expect them to be at least $2.50-ish but I wouldn't be surprised to see them for around $5.00 or so at the craft shows around here. If you splash a bit of color detail onto them you could probably even get $7 or $8. Since you are trying to raise money though, the around $2.50 is probably better or $5 with some color.

Thank you for your votes and opinions! The other option would be to just have a 'for donations' type pricing.  Might get more that way overall since all the money goes to the church programs (mostly the children's art program). :)

I agree with this. $2-5 sounds fair, and it could be even higher than that and still sell.

I'd go a dollar minimum, but maybe not higher than six. People do expect to pay a little more at craft shows, since things are hand made. Those are adorable, by the way.
I'll put something here some time

Like everybody else has said... Don't sell yourself short! These are definitely worth more than $1.00. I think they'd move well at $5.00, and could even go for more than that!

$5 is a good price point in a craft fair environment, I think, because it's a good even (Well, in terms of cash ) number and can be paid for with a single bill.

They're quite adorable. Good work! :)

Awesome! Thanks for the support everyone.  ^^ I know they won't be for everyone but it sounds like they will be an ok contribution. I am always nervous because everyone from the church comes and the old ladies sew quilts and bags and stuff.  My group is doing wood burned boxes and jewelry this year.

I'd say 2 if unpainted, 5 if you add some color to them.

They are super cute! I'd say price them at $3, or $5 if you add color. Good luck!

I agree with a $2-5 price tag.  You can definitely get more than a dollar.

Those would make Adorable gifts for children to give their mothers!! If I were the one doing it, I'd make them in a variety of colors.

I think somewhere between $2.50-5 would be good, and maybe you could also have a "Pay what you wish" jar as another option in case people want to pay more-- and also in case some people and children truly can't afford much but would like to give them as a gifts.

This might be taking it too far lol, but if you could find inexpensive little boxes for them and brought some different colored ribbons, kids could choose their own ribbon so they get to do something personal. Also, I think watching a kid enjoy the process might attract people to your booth to see what's going on  ;)

 :green: Good luck!

Good idea! Plus I'm sure the kids see all of these cool items but cant afford most of them.  I remember when i was little I always bought presents for my twin since our birthday is a few weeks after the bizar.  Running around with my coin purse was fun. :)

Heres what you do (taken from a very successful jewelery maker passed down to me)

take what it cost you to make it and times it by 3--

1 portion for the materials, 1 portion for your profit, and 1 portion to get more materials.

Hopefully that helps ^^
