No, don't worry; you should be fine.

I've sent a couple very high value packages with only insurance before, and it just meant I couldn't see the progress online. If there is a problem (unlikely), the insurance would cover you. I've even seen people recommend to not get delivery confirmation on insured packages because if it were to be delivered to the wrong place or stolen from the porch/mailbox, they won't honor the insurance claim for the loss since according to their records it was delivered.
Some postal workers don't really know that much about the services offered. I've had people at our post office tell me wrong information as well. The most recent being that they couldn't scan the "scan form" that is intended to prove a package was accepted at the post office when you print postage online through their site.

Probably the worst thing that I've seen them do though was when I took a delivery confirmation form to them and the girl at the desk wasn't able to get that one to scan so she scanned a new form and proceeded to put the one that didn't work on the package itself.

Not surprisingly, that package never did show up as delivered in the system. (It arrived just fine though.)
