Would these work on a pony?
« on: September 14, 2012, 02:34:44 AM »
This is an ended auction so I hope it's ok to post this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pine-car-Pinewood-derby-dry-transfer-decals-stickers-Stinger-P311-/180835509198?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1aa2e3ce&nma=true&si=rcbIv2mbt%2BjzZHtWZEXEU2lqwfA%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

These are "Dry Transfer Decals" made by Pine Car. I'm not sure how they work or transfer exactly as I've never owned them. But if anyone is familiar, is it possible to use these on a pony? Or will it not stick or come off easily?

im sure they will, I have used butterfly transfers before and they worked fine, I think you would need to seal them on to the pony :)

I don't see why not, I use tattoo decals on ponies and on one of my MH dolls, just make sure you seal them well :)

Oh really? That's cool. Thanks. One more question, what do you use to seal things like that? I remember a year ago trying to use something to seal something on a pony and it was goopy and horrible. Can't remember the name of it right now but I had to start over and it was a mess.

they do work :3 I used that same brand of decals on my Phoenix ponies and then sealed over it like normal :3

I was even able to manipulate the decals as I was rubbing them on to get a nice even rub on on a rounded surface :3 they worked really well.

She looks awesome :)

I used Mod Podge to seal the decals, you can water it down a little to make it go on easier, you just need a couple extra coats if you do that :)

I use Liquitex clear matte which is a brush on acrylic sealer, it worked just fine :3

Pinkamena - That's what I used! I used mod podge and it came out all messed up. Maybe I just suck at dealing with stuff like that. I will try the watering down trick.

Thanks, I'll look into the Liquitex clear matte. Hopefully somewhere local has a bottle.

I got mine at Michaels in the artist paints section :3 it's a little spendy, $13 for a bottle, but it's a good sized bottle
