Provide me with your Nirvana restoring tips
« on: September 06, 2012, 07:27:47 PM »
I have a few girls in that are in a major overhaul need of TLC. I dunno if this would go here or in the Corral. I ended up posting here since I wasn't sure if maybe the plastics from some areas were different enough to require different care? (Does that sound like a crazy statement?)

Anyway two girls currently that will need rehair. That part isn't so bad, but also one has silver nail polish on her. I've tried gently trying to get it off, but it's not all coming away. Should I use acetone? She's a bright colored Argie so will it hurt her? Also both of these girls need sunfading and have marker stains on them pretty badly. Far as sunfading goes do Argies tend to sunfade any differently than others? I guess my main question is there any certain care other than the regular stuff I should take with my girls?

Thanks

Hehe can do. I have their auction pics and some I snapped before spa time. Sadly it will be a bit before these girls are ready to flaunt, but I hope they turn out well. Maybe they can look a smidgen as lovely as the versions you have in your gallery. ;)

you can safely use pure acetone on them :) you can pretty much use all the normal restortation techniques on argies and rel said they are pretty resilient ponies.

i always start with the mildest product before i work my way up to something more industrial ;)

One of them met a great deal of Acetone the other day because she was covered in silver glittery nail polish. It did turn out well though. I used it on her feet first to kinda test it, and she had nail polish there. I guess the child decided that was her nails?

How much luck do you typically have sunfading with marker issues? I have one that has blue marker all down her back, and I'm half worried that will not go away. >w<

Good to hear that you can clean Nirvanas with much the same technique as regular ponies...
