Rehairing G4s?

So I had a G4 Rainbow Dash laying around, and thought I'd try customizing her. I'm not an experienced customizer, and this was my first attempt at a G4. I'm currently trying to rehair her, and it's so much more difficult than a G3! The head seems to be made of concrete, the plugs are so tiny.

Would you more experienced customizers have any tips on rehairing a G4? Could I possibly break the plugs to make more space? I've broken two needles on this one pony alone.

What needles have you been using? I've been using the same doll needle on my g4s for a long long time and I've never have any breakage. The heads are so small, you could widen them with a push pin but you might end up combining two plugs if you aren't careful.

Use a push pin.  Wiggle it in a circle when you've got it in and that will make it loads easier.

make sure you have a pretty small needle and not too much hair. The only time I've broken a needle on a G4 so far, is when I was adding extra plugs.

I always use a sewing awl to make the hole bigger to put the hair in (I don't push it all the way in )

I used one of Maniah's rehairing tools on my g4s, with her 'custom' size needle. It worked great.
