As to the dollyhair I lay it out flat as I can and separate it out one piece at a time. Then I wet that piece just a bit to keep it together. Are you knotting one end, dot of glue on one end, or just pulling one strand through two plugs and gluing later? G4 neck plugs are the devil, you are brave!

Hemostats are great for hair removal. I use a doll needle to rehair myself.i know some use floss and needle, or re hairing tools though. There are so many options you really need to experiment and see what you like.

Acetone is a must for removing symbols. It's with nail polish but it's 100% acetone.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

This was my first custom. I used a baby fakie because I knew I wouldn't be as nervous about messing up a fakie.  After that I just went for it.

I removed the paint with 100% Pure acetone.  I tried it with fingernail polish at first but that had disastrous results.  once you remove the paint with acetone, arm and hammer baking soda will neutralize the baking soda.

I used gesso to prime the pony before I painted it.  I was using Super Sculpy and I set it by boiling it because I was afraid of the fakie melting.

I added a second row of hair because it only had one line of hair plugs instead of two, that a real pony would have had.

G4's would be a difficult first custom because their neck plug is a pain to get out, their hair is difficult to get out because their head is such an odd round shape and the hole is so small.

For a first custom, I would almost recommend a G3.  You can do it though!  Bandaids and sweat!

What can I say! I like to throw myself in the deep end. I starting in a baity G3 too. I have acetone and everything. I'll post pics soon. I'm going to practice on fakies I have practiced on a couple.

I have been just Pulling one strand at a time. Sadly I think 'not' getting the hair tangled will be my biggest challenge.

I've prepped her properly today as I had a lot of time to relax. Acetone is the best I swear. I've started on the eyes and do far, so good. I'm just trying something simple at the moment. I've taken a couple if pics, I'll post them here when I can. Waiting for the first coat of the eyes to dry and then I'll get started on the second coat.

It's going okay so far! :)
