There is one barbie pinto horse listed  (Ginger) that seems to match the description of your horse- but of course that is one of the few photos not included...

Could it be a Kid Core toy? I know Kid Core did toy horses to that sort of scale, I'm sure they did a black or brown and white one.

I *think* I got it!

My Countryland horses - loads of different colours in the correct pose. I can't find a skewbald one but I think these are the nearest thing so far? Linky
