I hope you are able to get the kittens spayed as well as the mother cat so that they don't run the risk of also going through such a terrible life experience as being abandoned and having to care for their babies...

I think I may have a potential adopter for the grey male kitten! My poor dogs are getting a bit paranoid. Mama cat comes out of her corner swinging like a champ if my dogs get too close to the kittens.

Good way to teach nosy pups about respecting cats! I just make sure to never leave the dogs and cats alone or unsupervised, in case someone gets a meat hook in the nose and needs medical care

aww i hope they find homes , I would adopt them if I was in your state though. As for the black cats being evil that comes out of the color black being associated with evil in medieval times. In the far east though it is the color white that is associated with evil.

I'd have to keep the kittens until they were two pounds in weight to get spayed. Most spay clinics can go by age as well and the youngest spay I could find was at 7 to 8 weeks.

Believe me, if there was a way to spay/neuter the kittens before they left me, I'd make sure it happened. Right now, I'm on a fixed income, enough to get bills paid and live ok so any extra expenses really aren't in the budget.

I found a place to spay mom cat for as little as $15, plus to give her the feline luke. test to make sure if she is positive, then there is a good chance the kittens are as well. It's easily spread to other cats and I don't know if it is serious and could lead to other health problems. 
I let everyone know to test the kittens for it if they adopt and to make sure they keep the kittens separate from other cats.

I've have had one lovely lady donate some kitten kibble to help feed the kittens and mom and I've been giving the mom occasional water packed albacore tuna to help pack some weight on.

Haven't heard from the potential adopter, but it's just Saturday and hopefully she contacts me back since she lives very close by.

The bad news is that some residents are complaining about the stray/feral cat colony now and asking they be removed. I am trying to find a spay/relocate program to help save these cats but I can't seem to get any response from the places I have called. 

I'm going to keep trying...

The cats live between a junk yard and a dumpster on my apartment complex property. The junkyard is being sold and cleared so the commotion is driving the cats further into the apartment complex grounds.

I hope I can find a solution to save these cats.

I hope so too!    The poor things should not be living outside and scrounging for food/shelter.  They should be indoors with owners who love them and are protective enough to keep them from harm.
