Spanish TE DIFFERENCES
« on: August 11, 2012, 10:34:17 AM »
First off thanks to angelponies for my newest spanish masquerade.

Ok so aside from the fact that I am masquerade obsessed  I want to show the differences I have noticed just by collecting 4 spanish masquerades. Two of them are in whizzers pose and two are in lofty pose.
The differences between them are quite stunning and I am wondering if anyone else has noticed differences like these in their spanish ponies.

I took pictures outside so you can see the exact colors without flash.

1.Take a look at the differences in eye color first.  One of the Lofty pose masquerade has the darkest green out of the 4 while other lofty pose masquerade has yellow eyes. (she also has a diffrent blue color in her mane which is more purply than the other three)

2.Secondly. notice that dark eyeliner masquerade in whizzers pose matches dark eyed masquerade in lofty pose.
And the light eyeliner on masquerade in whizzers pose matches the light eyeliner on the on in lofty pose.

Is this evidence of different factories that made them?

3. Look at the different sizes of the jewels used in their eyes also. there is a big difference.

4.Also another major difference is that masquerade in lofty pose with green eyes has different hoof markings than the other three. Spain is placed on the top hoof instead of on the bottom.

5.Then of course the masquerades in whizzers poses are very different. One has three rows of hair plugs and the other two. and just notice the difference in eye liner between them.

6. 3 Masquerades have large jewels used in the eyes therefore the actual size of the eye is bigger. The masquerade in loftys pose with green eyes has smaller jewels used.

Here are the photos.

I like the heavy black eyeliner! Do all the Spanish ponies have that?

those hoof marks are very, very interesting!

i have always found the spain ponies to be very OOAK. this makes me think they are like the italian or greek ponies which had part of their manufacture done by hand.

is there any difference in the symbols?

I am wondering if there is a trend with the hoof markings.. The masquerade who has spain marked on her bottom hoof seems to be the version that has been found the most (dark green eyes)
While the other three (two of those being in whizzers pose and the other having yellow eyes) are marked spain on their top hoof (none of them have been seen before to my knowledge) Do you think this might be evidence that the three masquerades with spain on the top hoof were made by one factory while dark green eyed lofty pose was made in another?

Does anyone have another spanish masquerades that you can tell us where yours is marked?

perhaps they were created at different times ... o:
To my knowledge the only factory where ponies were manufactured in Spain is in Valencia.
Anyway there are beautiful!
I love spanish eyes : )

Edit: or had factory errors ~
