any body watch the olympics ?

the opening and closing ceremonys were ace  and team gb did ace with the most medals  scooped in 100 years and a gold in horsey sport for 65 years !!  i also watched rowing swimming diving and the bikes i think they were my faves  xaflamex

I really enjoyed watching the triathlon...

I actually went to see the team showjumping finals at Greenwich park when team GB won!!! We did amazingly well and it's a day I'll never forget. I don't think it gets much better than seeing your home team win on home soil

I only watched the Judo pretty much. Cause a little of the synchronized swimming.

I luuuuuuuuv watching the Olympics!  I record everything I can on my DVR.  I watched everything from swimming to gymnastics to track & field to volleyball to diving to equestrian.  I even watched the decathalon and parts of the marathon!  Just awesome all around.  I even get teary when it's a country that wins their first-ever medal or first-ever gold.  I just love, love, love the Olympics.

I watched them a lot more this time around than I ever really have.  The women's archery, volleyball, swimming events, and the short distance races were favorites of mine.

There aren't any sports in the summer olympics in which I'm interested. I'd really like to see a form of motorsports at the Olympic, but the International Olympic Committee is run by old fogeys who harp on about 'tradition', and motorsports aren't 'traditional', so it will never happen.

It'd be awesome to see something like the Race of Champions in the Olympics, which puts the best drivers from the highest tiers of motorsports against each other, all in the same spec car. There's more than one car, obviously, but they're all identical. Put all the entrants from each country in something like a Formula Ford, all the same spec, same engine, tires, transmission, everything. Have it on a circuit that's near the rest of the Olympics, with race engineers and pit crews from the racers home nations, give the drivers time to practise in the cars and on the tracks so it'd be a real race, it'd be awesome. But it's not 'traditional'. We'll never see it.

You never know.  They are always reviewing sports and other games, so it is possible it could happen.  When I was in high school, one of my good friends went to the 1996 Olympics on the vaulting team - it was shown as an exhibition sport, but she hopes that one day vaulting will be added to the equestrian group.

And baseball has been dropped from the Olympic roster - that's a pretty "traditional" game.  Granted it's probably the most popular here in the US, but there were enough countries that supported teams for it to be in the Olympics for a time.  But the committee decided to nix it.

My kids loved watching it, and now everytime my 3yr old daughter sees something sport like on tv, she goes oh look mummy ooooolympics are on. She cant say it right and its so cute.
I especially enjoyed the gymnastics, and the floor routines with the balles, hoops and ribbons, not sure what thats called. but it was great, there so talented!
