More ? about Petite Playsets...
« on: August 05, 2012, 09:42:36 AM »
I picked up 2 petite playsets from a local seller a few years ago. Both have green wal-mart price tags on them and boxes are in english.

Carousel ??'s first:
So, I ask what's the theory of how it comes to pass that I have the dutch petites with my carousel?
Factory error?
I don't know, the boxes clearly state that the petites have brushable manes... LOL

There's very little info on mylittlewiki. And the box pics are the ones I donated.

What does the dutch box look like? And the playset itself, does it look different, aside from the normal variation in colors that these sets had?

Green petite on teeter totter and pink petite on top of steps came with set.

Is there any difference in the US vs a Euro version?

I didn't think that there were any real differences between the international releases and the US releases, but I am not sure.

I didn't think there were differences either.

But I have to say those playsets look like so much fun!

I'm guessing someone has the Euro/Dutch release with box. They can't be that rare??

Ivy's site has great information on petites....http://www.ponylandtours.com/PetitePocket/PetitePocketIndex.html

On the Carousel: I believe that although the UK/Euro release got the Carousel with only the brushable tail, the US got both - it was a release thing. The moulded tail US version was released and then the Euro brushable version after that - then after the US release was past and around the same time as the Euro release a second version was released in the US and this second run had the Euro run brushable ponies. However, the latter US release got a more limited run.

The only difference I know on the Castle is that the ponies got different names - Princess Moondust was called Magic Star and Kingsley was called Sundrop.

Interesting info!

I've been curious to know this too because I also have the brushable carousel petites.  I bought them from a person (also in the US) who told me the carousel playset and those two petites were hers from childhood.  Sadly don't have the box or the carousel that came with them though.

But I also have the carousel from childhood, but mine came with the molded hair versions
