new seller question *ebay*
« on: August 02, 2012, 06:17:11 AM »
hey everyone im pretty much a brand new seller on ebay, everything is going fine, on my second load of dnd minis im selling, and i just got a question on one of the current lots...

"I read your listings and I was hoping that you could ship to your brothers and sisters up north of you into Vancouver Canada? If this is possible how much would it cost?"

so far ive only been selling in the states with these things, and i wouldnt mind selling overseas etc if needed, i just dont for the life of me know how to go about adjusting the shipping during an auction... and im hesitant to quote shipping to canada cause quite frankly, i havent the foggyest. the bf said jsut send her a message after the thing ends and i get to the PO but THEN what if they just paypal it right as it ends (like i usually do)? then id have to pester them for more money... *deep breath*

so basically.... im new, and heeeeeeelp!  :flail:

I have to say that shipping overseas is just as easy as shipping within the states, so don't be scared

And shipping to Canada First Class is fairly inexpensive compared to some other countries.

If you want to edit your auctions, just go into Active listings in your My Ebay.  It should bring up all your listings.  They give you the option to edit in bulk or one at a time.  But which ever you decide you can edit your shipping preferences through there.  I personally use calculated shipping for overseas, just click the box for calculated and enter the weight.  Ebay will do the rest.

Plus you can print your International labels just the same as you do for Domestic.

Hope that helps you out a bit.

hmm tried to change the shipping on them by clicking edit and goin to the shipping section of the listing... but it wont let me check the box that says 'international shipping' or change anything. and hitting backspace just boots me back a page. =[ *baffled*

Hmm..are they auctions or Buy it Nows?

And if they are auctions are there bids on them? If there is it maybe why it will not let you change it.

yes they all have bids on them... should i just give them the go ahead and let them know it might cost a few dollars more or just foot the extra few dollars? (none are BiN)

I am pretty sure it won't let you change it then if there are bids.

If it was me, I would give them the go ahead.

If you go to USPS's site first though and get a calculated shipping price to give them, it will save you on being out money out of pocket.  There calculated prices are almost dead on as long as you know the approx. weight.

yeah ive pretty much decided ima give them the go ahead, was thinking of just telling them if they were still interested in them (if they win some) i can ship them and let them know if they owe a couple bucks extra or something.

After the auction ends send them an invoice with the updated total but if you can quote them a price first so they know about how much it will be. That way they won't argue later if the cost turns out to be higher than they want to pay.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

Yep this is what I do. Give a quote for their location, they know that the listed price is only for domestic shipping and I've never had an international bidder have a problem with understanding that ^^ If this person took the time to PM you, they really want the item and are willing to pay international shipping, so adding it to the invoice at the end won't be a problem :) Just make sure you ask them to wait before paying at the end so you can weigh everything out and give an accurate shipping price.

Yep you cant change the auction because there are already bids on it, but you can still give her the go ahead to bid  if you dont mind shipping to Canada

This is what I would do as well . Make sure they know how much it will cost them before they place a bid if possible. Then send them an invoice after the auction ends with the updated shipping price on  :awake:
