Ponies go to Yosemite (very pic heavy)

Bubbles, Medley and Aj came along with me for a trip to  a family camp I worked at last summer and then into Yosemite National Park for most of the day.

The Girls checking out the lovely paintings of local birds. Medley Says " I'm sure I could out fly all those birds"  Bubbles rolls her eyes.

Medley spots a horseshoe pit and challenges the other to a round. M: "Ha! bet you can't beat that!"

M: " *snicker* Nice try Bubbs, but you're suppose to try to toss it onto the stake, not 5 feet away" Bubbles: " Well that thing is dang heavy, and you cheated by flying and tossing yours"

Aj's turn..and she is clearly the winner.
Medley:"....what..the? how'd she!?...........but that's!........*glare* You cheated!!"
Bubbles *snicker*
AJ: "well ladies, I guess I just don't know my own strength, heh"

Bubbles: "oh come on Medley, quit pouting, AJ won fair and square"
Medley: " I'm not pouting ............................................."*grumbles about cheating steroid-ed up tiny  ponies cheating at games*

Medley: "Hey, cool pool.Wanna go for a swim?"
Bubbles, " Sure why not, my backside could use a bit of a workout with the kicking and whatnot"
AJ" Sounds like fun!"

Medley: " Hey Bubbs! this says no diving! *wicked grin*"
Bubbles" Just cuz it says don't do something doesn't mean you HAVE to Medley"

Medley:"Hey Bubbs! This says 'Danger' and 'No crossing'! I  bet i can cross it 20 times before anyone tried to stop me"
Bubbles: ".......Did you not hear what I said just 5 minutes ago?"

Medley:" Buuuuuuuubbsss, come on~~! There's a lot more stuff to look at ! come on! you can sit down later!"
Bubbles: "oh my stars Medley! just let me relax for  10 minutes!"
"Medley: " Come ooooooooooooon"

Medley: " Hmm,tacos for lunch? Pass . Dinner looks ok though."
Bubbles:" Good thing we had a nice big breakfast then if you are gonna pass on lunch. You can go run around like a maniac while I eat then"

M:" Heya Bubbs. Enjoying the creek?"
Bubbles: " Yes. It's very calming. Such a pleasant sound too"
M: "Uh, cool. Mind if I hang around?"
Bubbles: "As long as you are quite"
M:" Ok, I can do quiet"

AJ: "Hey ya'll. Mind if I join ya too?"
Bubbles " I don't mind at all AJ =)"

Bubbles, Medley, AJ and Jupiter got on a bus to head to Yosemite so they wouldn't have to deal with traffic.

AJ: "Oh, there went the gate for Yosemite"
Medley: "Where?" *falls over looking around for it

Medley: : Holy shmoligans! look at all those old burned up trees! What happened?"
Bubbles : " well, if you had been listening, the bus driver said that they are from a fire in 2000"

Bubbles: " yeah, that's where we were going anyway Medley"

Bubbles:" *sweatdrop* AJ, if anyone asks...we don't know her"
AJ "uh...yeah" *wanders away

Bubbles: " wow, yosemite falls really is dry. They weren't kidding about having a poor snowpack"

Later on a open air tram tour of the valley floor...

Medley: " OH look! Sentinel Rock! and a meadow! I wanna go fly around in it and find some birds to race!"
Bubbles: "Sure , go ahead. But the tour isn't gonna wait up for you. They said they'll leave anything that falls out of the tram, even your relatives and friends"
Medley" uh..nevermind then, I'll just look"

Then a while after that the tour was over and we went to gift stores and Jupiter's camera died. The bus took us back to the car which we then used to go back to camp and have yummy meaty lasagna for dinner and eventually went tot sleep

So cute, I have never been there and we live so close, it's horrible. Those pictures really make me wanna go!! Medley looks perfect there since she is so green.

Last year was the first time I went to Yosemite. It was a good year for it too since I think the ranger said it was record  runoff for the waterfalls. Sadly this year the falls are lowflow or dry. But it was neat to see the wind blowing the wispy Bridalveil falls water backwards or making it hover in the air before falling.

awww, thank you for the lovely story and pictures, Jupiter! it was a really nice read! and those ponies and those landscapes! I wish I could go there someday, but I don't think I will ever manage to... so this thread helped me alot to catch a little "feel" of Yosemite as a compensation. thanks again!
