The main reason I'm fine with ponies with "issues" is that I love restoring. If I put a lot of work into making a pony beautiful again, its spot on the shelf is all the more meaningful. <3
Beautifully said Reanna!  This exactly is the reason why I love sad condition ponies.

Main reason?  They are cheap, and as a kid I didn't have many toys (ponys) to play with.

Any more reason?  =3  (And they are horses!!!).

About condition...  if I'm buying for cheap, I don't care paying for really damaged ponies (I have an amazing and unfaded Braided Beauty whose only problem is missing half her face...).  If I'm paying more money, I search for an amazing pony.

And usually... nirvanas with some kind of damage are way cheaper than a mint one, so... I tend to go with cheap and damaged ponies =P

I also love restoring them! My favorite kind of pony is an HTF pony with haircuts, dirt and marker XD I see restoring them to their former charm as a challenge and I love a pony so much more when I've spent time and energy on making it look fantastic again <3

Hmmm...I would say I do tend to aim for near minty or minty ponies but that being said I would not be able to "leave a G1 behind" if I came across one with issues. I have an collectors pose AJ who my mum found for me - she has half a tail, a mohawk, scribbles on her side and gouges out of her eye but I am not going to restore her she has meaning because of my mum taking the time to find her for me - so I think as long as you love them [for whatever reason - because they are minty, because they are baity, because they have sentimental value] thats all that matters!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I wouldn't actively seek out a pony with major issues but if I get a pony with major issues who I don't already have in my collection (from a lot or flea market find for example) then I happily take them in and add them to the herd :)

I reread my post...and now it seems like I was uhhh 'griping' about those who go for the 'near minty' not my intention if it read that way D:  lol i love my ponies no matter what condition they're in. there's only one I wish I could try to restore but she proves stubborn.
