Late to the party but I will agree 100 million percent - Furminator. That device, alongside the Kong, are the best animal gadgets ever.

I also have a Zoom-Groom but I use it more on the carpet and sofa than the dog, my OH thought I was nuts but it's amazing for getting dog hair up! :lmao:

I would NOT use a Furminator on any animals with thin skin or on bony bits though - Furminators can scratch and irritate sensitive bits. :)

I have 6 cats so we have a Furminator and it works miracles, but the thing is they all hate it.  They're so weird, I know.  The long-hair is being shaved this weekend, because he just won't groom himself and it's so much hassle to hold him down long enough to brush him.

We're leaving his puffy tail though.  :D

A lot of animals don't like being brushed with pin bristles or hard bristle brushes because pet parents have a tendency to scrape their skin. Same reason a lot of little kids put up a fight when their parents brush their hair. It hurts!

My cat loooves being brushed so no dilemma there. And I use a bristle brush and a comb, he likes both just fine. When he really gets into it he'll start purring and nuzzling his face against whatever is in his immediate vicinity x3 I think as long as i'm not trying to pull knots out or anything it should feel like a good back scratch!

and lol Skeen XD pictures!! When he's done.

Preeeeetty sure they just hate it, because we have soft-bristled "baby" brushes too and they still throw the same fit.  I WISH they liked it, because I have never had cats that didn't and I feel like a bad mom for not brushing them.  :(

Rhini - Oh, there will be pics.  His name is Fuzzy but he's not going to be when the groomer is done with him.  ^^

Awww your Sam is gorgeous <3

I'm going to echo the furminator. I use one on my medium haired dog and it's a godsend. The thing is, You won't have to use it very much after your first grooming session X____X

A simple soft bristle brush inbetween furminator sessions should do just fine. I use a soft bristle on my boy cat and he loooooooooves it more than normal petting! LOL
