For anyone who was interested in my progress in this.. Here is an update

I have just tried again with a bit of Virgin Snow.. It now looks like the yellow snow that your mother warned you never to eat.

At this point, I have one question for you Pop, if you do catch this message.. Or for anyone who has done white hair successfully.. Is your pot coated in Teflon? Im wondering if there is a chance it could be causing a bad reaction..

I happen to have some Watermellon scent on hand, so when this batch is done cooling, I'm going to get out some more, and try it again with watermellon and see if it happens again. Most frustrating.

No, my pots are not coated - they're stainless. If I had to guess I'd say the coconut is to blame. I'm curious to find out what happens when you use the watermelon scent.

If I get the same issue with watermelon, I may go buy a cheapie stainless steal pot to test.

At least Im getting a pretty pale yellow to use in the future lol.

Update.. Im waiting on watermelon to cool down, but by this point, Island Coconut had already started to yellow. It looks like it may not yellow.

Oddly enough in this picture, the Watermelon on the right, is darker in color than the coconut on the left. So it isn't the color of the scent (haha that was odd to type) that is doing it. Assuming that it DOES work this time.

Oh, and still waiting to hear back from Tina.

So, my Watermelon sample is done. It has a teeny tiny bit of yellow, I think. You can see in this picture that it is nowhere near as yellow as the Coconut came out.

I am going to come to the conclusion that the scents from Dollyhair are hit or miss when it comes to altering the color of Nylon hair. Some may change it drastically like Coconut, some very little, like Watermelon, and some may not affect it at all, as Pop has experience with.

Hey, guys!

Thanks so much for posting all of that info! I guess that, during my testing, I really didn't test enough fragrances on enough hair colors. SORRY!!!

I guess the rule of thumb should be that, if you're adding fragrance to a light shade of hair, do a strand test first, just to see if that fragrance/hair color combo causes the hair to change color.

If anyone needs to send back any hair for an exchange, please let me know!!

Tina

Thanks Tina :) I actually like the color that it turned my white so I'll be keeping it. It looks close to Lemonade in color, by my inexperienced guess.
