Dollyhair + "bait" questions

So I was going around thinking about doing a G1 custom of my G4 style pony Blossom Eclipse, since G1s are just plain awesome but now I'm facing a problem.. What colours would fit to her hair?
And what bait would do for her body? I'm thinking of Powder as they do have almost the same shade of purple.
And if so is it okay to bait the one I have? She have like no symbols on one side and is rubbed here and there, but hair is silky...

I always say NEVER bait a G1 unless it is not possible to be restored. No hair, no symbols, no eyes, missing pieces, etc. G1s are vintage toys, and there are only so many in the world. Once one is customized, it is destroyed forever and that's one less G1 in the world forever. Customs can be stripped of their paint, rehaired, and painted to look how they once did, but they're still customized and that can never change.

I would say do NOT bait that Powder if she only has one missing symbols, slight rubs, and lovely hair.

I agree with the above statement. I debated customizing a few wingers previously, and then I felt overwhelming guilt because I could restore them instead. I say no if the pony is in good condition. You could always sell her to someone else who would enjoy her and use that money to buy some baits?

CANDY KISS and FAIRY'S BREATH from dollyhair maybe? I bait G1s.  I am guilty of not likely restores.  I mean if it's an uncommon pony that someone would really want or a boy I wouldn't just have at them.  But the more common/less desired g1s.  Powder is fairly common ($5-10 range right?) and it sounds like yours isn't in good shape anyway.  I'm evil, I'd bait.

as is always my thoughts when it comes to this question: if the pony is in bad shape (missing symbol, bad hair/haircuts, rubs, stains, etc) and is not a rare pony, then baiting is fine. Personally I always feel a little guilt when I bait a G1...I much prefer to use a g3 bait (unless I am making a repo or something)
But ultimately it is your pony to do as you please with.
for the pony you are showing, Powder is a good color...and i love her pose it might be fun to use an adult G3 and give her a custom horn (i always love the look of a custom horn)
as for dollyhair colors -- I would think hearthrob and fairy's breath would match pretty well ^_^

I agree with Fairys Breath and Candy Kiss.  They would look good!

Use whichever pony you think will work best for your custom. In the end, you want to be happy with it! I have to second the suggestion of fairys breath and candy kiss. Jupiter had a great suggestion too using the g3. The g1 horns are not as pretty as a custom sculpted horn, IMO. But if it is a g1 look specifically that you want, stick with your original idea.  I'm sure that whatever you go with, it will look beautiful!

If she's truly baity, then I don't see why you couldn't use her.  On a common pony, a restore isn't going to bring the value up much since it's still a form of customization.  I generally don't like to bait unless they have bad body AND hair, but she's your pony.  You could always try to trade for one that's in worse shape if it makes you feel better.  I love her pose.  You could also try pussycat for the lighter pink.  I have several pinks, I can take a picture of them if you'd like.

Powder's a common pony and not difficult to come by in good condition. Judging by your description, she sounds like a good candidate for a custom. I've baited a few Powders/Skyfliers since I love that pose.

I'd bait your Powder. If she's already missing symbols, even if you repainted the original it would still be more of a custom. Go for it!

I'd say don't bait her. Powder is just so beautiful and if she still has symbols on the other side then she can be displayed that way.

Well, if someone does have a Powder with severe cut mane/tail/no symbols/no plastic errors and would like to trade with me I'm up for it. I'm very sceptical myself to bait her due to the quality of the mane and the fact that she still have one side with cutiemark, but as stated she is pretty common.
