Is this cancer???
« on: July 27, 2012, 12:17:27 PM »
I won a auction on ebay for a German baby Lemondrop for $9,00!
Today she arrived and when I opend the package I noticed a spot on her front leg. I think it is cancer, but I want to know for sure.
I am really sad right now because a pony with a cancer spot is a real no no for me because I am afraid that the rest of my Lemondrops in my army will get them. And because I have some real expensive ones I am afraid they will get it to.

This is the spot I am talking about:

If she has cancer what can I do so it will not spread on my pony and to other ponies?

Thanks in advance! ^.^

Oh Moondancer   I'm no expert since I don't have many ponies with cancer, but I'm sure you will get some good advice. Little Lemondrop is adorable and another that I'll need to stalk later.

I've never actually encountered pony cancer in my herd (thank goodness) but I've seen ponies with it. Some people say that boiling the pony in OxiClean stops its spread, never tried it before.

I'm not sure if it is cancer or not, but it sure looks like it.

Heck, we don't really know if it actually spreads or not, but better safe than sorry.  Best wishes to the poor girl.  :whoa:

that looks like cancer to me. but cancer does not spread to other ponies, cancer is just a break down of the plastic in the pony. I've got a bunch of ponies with cancer that are in among my other ponies without any worry because I know it won't spread :3

It can spread on the pony itself however... just because it's already breaking down, so you'll probably see more cancer spots pop up over time on the pony, but it won't spread to the others

Actually, someone put a pony with cancer under a microscope, and they saw what seemed to be bacteria on the cancer spot.

Oh no not mold!!!

I don't know what to do with her. I already contacted the seller just now. But I already know sending herback is not a option because shipping would be even more then whatI paid for her.
Maybe I will sell her, but what should I ask for her and would even anyone be interested because she has cancer :(
Oh I was so happy that I found her and now I am so sad. She was missing from the herd and now I have to search further.

I really think you should just keep her dear at least until you possibly find a replacement? I have one cancer pony, and it sits beside my computer and keeps me company. The little girl has really grown on me, and I enjoy her company.

If you simply must sell her and she's hanging around in August (after I pay off my ponies) give me a nudge. I'd be interested in giving her a home to hang out with Glow. ^.^

Also where is that mold/cancer thread that was started like a week ago guys? That might be helpful to you.

It does indeed look like an age/cancer mark unfortunately. The first thing to note is that it wont spread to your other ponies...however it may well spread within that pony. "Spread" is probably not quite the right word. The damage and colour are a result of damage to the plastic - so this plastic breakdown cant spread to other ponies but the nature of a breakdown like this reduces the integrity of the remainder of the pony and thereby "could" [only could as its possible it wont happen] result in further break down in the same plastic item.

If you were not told about the mark and asked for a full description of the item, then you should certainly contact the seller. She is hard to find but she does still come up with enough regularity you should manage to track a nice condition one down :)

Oh I just love her. She is beautiful even with the cancer. She deserves a chance lol. I have a few ponies with those spots and I still love them. I try not to buy them with spots, but if someone gives me one...I love them all the same.  She is a beautiful pony.
