plush pony tags

I know the Hasbro Softies plush ponies had paper tags with the MLP logo and I think a pic and description of the pony too, but what about the Applause versions?  Did these have paper tags too?  (I know the Applause ones did have blue Applause logo ear tags.)


How about brushes?  I guess the Applause plushes had their brushes hanging around their necks on cords.  Did the Hasbro Softies plushes have brushes included the same way?  (I think I remember reading somewhere that the Softies ones just had their brushes attached to their bodies with a little plastic thingy, but I don't know if that was true.)


I'd love to see pics of NM plushes with original tags and brushes if anyone has some to share.  Thanks!

hmm good question, i think they had some sort of tag on them on their ear or where the brush was.

My dad worked for applause, and we have a bunch of toy catalogs with different images of the applause plushies, but only shown with the brushes on their necks. I also have a catalog where they are in different poses, and firefly was discontinued from the set (maybe these were never released). .

The artwork shown on the promo page, has the mlp logo with two ponies next to it, so i'm assuming that was the artwork used on the tags.

Applause plushies had the blue plastic "ear" tag as you mention and around their neck on a gold cord they had their brush.

Softie plushes had a small card board [a little square double sided folded card] around their neck on a white string and their brush dangling on the same cord in front or behind the card. The card had an artwork version of the pony whose neck it is around on the front of the card.

Is that what you were looking to find out?

Well, the Where the Rainbow Ends ID site shows an Applause Blossom with a paper MLP tag, but that's the only one I've ever seen, so I was trying to figure out what was normal.

I cant say I know anything about paper tags on Applause...I have honestly only ever come across them with the plastic tags...all of those I have owned have been stamped symbol versions though, the embroidered symbol applauses are incredibly rare and I have never had or seen one with all its original items so perhaps the embroidered versions did not have the traditional applause badges but a mlp paper tag instead?
