I'm a needle and floss girl too!!  To me, it is just more secure and efficient.  Not to mention I am a craft person who enjoys working with my hands, and the task of rehairing is fun for me.  I hope you find something that works, but there are some really excellent tutorials out there that might be of help to you:)
