Does anyone know when the first season of FiM is coming to dvd?

I'm not sure if it is. I think it is in pieces in Australia, but this has been an issue for a while now. It's mostly mini sets like the Friendship Express thing.

Yea I saw the Australia one and can't seem to find the US one when I search. Doesn't make sense. I saw when they are releasing the wedding one but nothing on season one. Maybe I should email Hasbro. Unless someone on here does have an idea.

I was talking to hubbs and he made a good point: it would probably cost too much money. It may be that, instead of making physical copies, they made a deal with Netflix and sold them the rights to use it on Instant for a set fee or something along those lines. This is merely a theory, but it's something worth considering. The DVD/Blu-ray market is pretty bad right now since people don't want to pay for physical discs anymore. Everyone would rather have digital or to just pirate what they want.


This may be a wise business decision. It would make sense that they would release it elsewhere, in countries that don't have Netflix. But the U.S. & Canada may never see it. Again, just a theory.

There are/will be 3 singular episodes on DVD in Region 1. There's 3 multi-episode DVD in Region 1.

The season 1 box is being released one disc at a time in Australia, which is Region 4.

Season 1 and 2 are currently on Netflix, along with episodes being available on iTunes.

Shows rarely release as full season box sets as they did in the early 00's. No one wants to spend $50 on that, and they don't sell all too well. It's cheaper and more convenient (usually) to just throw them on Netflix, Hulu or what not.

If they're releasing the full season (eventually) in Region 4, they might do so in Region 1. Then again, you can't get the second season of G1 in Region 1, but that was a different time.
