ID on G3 pyjama plushie?
« on: May 27, 2012, 03:00:25 AM »
Hi guys, I was hoping someone can help me ID this pony? She's a pyjama plushie I bought ages ago, and I've never figured out which pony she's meant to be. Her colouring makes me think maybe she's meant to be a Star Swirl? She's got no cutie marks so I can't tell.

Also, I bought her in an English toystore but her logo's in French?

Any help's really appreciated!

On colouration I'd say Desert Rose
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a woman in possession of disposable income, must be in want of a pony.

I would have guessed Desert Rose as well - its the only colour match in the G3 line. I dont think any of the French PJ cases have symbols if I remember rightly...very confusing!

Desert Rose has green eyes, though.

To me she looks like Sundance, but obviously it's not Sundance XD. Wrong generation and all.

Her hair is a little to pale, but the pink hair and blue eyes match Blossomforth and Strawberry Swirl. I believe Starswirl has white streaks, though if they ignored that she could still be a match (And by that logic, of course, Dessert Rose could be as well).

They probably purposefully left her ambiguous.

Edit: Actually, Strawberry Swirl has purplish eyes, so Blossomforth is the only white body/pink hair/blue eyes combination I can think of.

a lot of stuffed animals have a little tag on their butt or on their back leg that lists their name, manufacturer, etc. does this girl have a little tag like that?

This. I have a Toola Roola and Sweetsong plush in this style, and they both have a manufacturing tag with a name on the back of one of their legs.

If your pony zips open, her manufacturing tag may be inside of the compartment.

Thanks guys, I looked her over for a tag and all I found was this one on her butt. Still no name! Very odd. Are there any other instances of ponies being sold without cutie marks that you're aware of. This has made me very curious!

I think there were another 2 of these French plushies if I remember rightly - neither of which had symbols either - but I cant remember for certain - hopefully someone else can.

That'd be the manufacturing tag. I suppose they truly did mean to keep who she is purposefully ambiguous (Presumably because she's not supposed to be anyone in particular?).

I remember reading online elsewhere that the French plushies do not have a symbol. I presumed you knew or I would have said something. Sorry!

Edit: I took the liberty of doing some Googling just to be sure (Yay French dictionaries). It definitely does appear that none of the plushies released solely in France have symbols. Even ones differing in 'Mold' (Can you call it a mold when it's a plush doll?) from this one. It's really strange.

Ah well, that'd be it then! Haha, I was getting a bit excited thinking she was a factory flawed pony or something! I wonder how a French pony ended up in an English chain toystore then?

Sadly not. I do wish that were the case, though! You'd have quite a find. Still, a French plush is a find in it's own, really. She's definitely a unique little thing.

The store could have bought leftover stock from a French shop that closed, or have gotten some of their toys from a French factory? Only guesses, though.

We didnt have something similar in our G3 line, so I would guess it was a product HB UK picked up from another subsidiary and offered to retailers at some point.
