g1 badges / buttons / party favours? ID please!

hello!  I came across a small plastic circle with a mlp sticker on it,  when i was going through my old stuff. It looks like it used to have a clip that broke off, like a child safe button. I can't locate it at the moment, but i believe it was holographic? The type with lines on it, and when you turn it, the image changes...

so i was just wondering if this item sounds familiar and if it has a name, or a use, and it's origin. Now that I think of it, maybe they were party favours?

When you tip it does it look as though the pony is sitting when at one angle and standing at the other angle. Or does moving it from side to side make it look as though the pony is running? I want to say the couple I remember had Moondancer or Majesty and I think the other one was maybe Seashell or Blossom...

I vaguely remember something like this - they were just pin badges the ones I remember - I am not sure what they came from but the fact I am remembering them from child hood suggests either Fan Club or UK Comics [the latter is a good option as they came with a lot of free gifts along this kind of line]. However, if you found it from among old childhood items in the states then that shoots the Comic theory in the foot...I think we ll have to hope for other suggestions!

I believe mine is purple or blue, (but it could be yellow - it has been a few months since i saw it. of course I "put it somewhere safe", never to be seen again!)   I do believe it has a pony sitting, then standing, as you turn it.

It was hidden with my oldest stuff, so I had to have had it new, but as well as i recall, i only had the Dream Castle, Perfume Palace, Dance School, Megan and Sundance, Quackers, a seapony, a winger, a flutter, and a blue or purple Princess. Nothing very exotic!

Those look like the ones I was thinking of! But I do remember mine were standing & sitting and running - I dont remember what colour they were around the edges!

Looks like the were pretty well spread across the globe!

yes, it seems i had mine since I was 6 yo (Germany), so it seems they have been available all around the world maybe.

These buttons were made by Unique as a party favor. I gave them out at my MLP party back when I was a kid!

ah-hah!!! Thanks, MsTwilight, how rad to see them packaged up like that! I'll have to ask my mum if I ever gave them out at a party or anything. And OMG the seapony! I remember that one, too! I can see how i remembered them as purple, even though they are yellow - most seem to feature purple a lot.
