Selling MH collection.
« on: April 19, 2012, 02:54:35 PM »
I'm thinking of selling off my MH collection, as I'm a bit of a completionst, and I'm having a hard time keeping up. Plus the fact my shelf is so full I can't see all I've them :silly:

But the only way I could justify parting with them would be if I got at least what I payed for them back.

So, would it be realistic to get $30 each for them loose complete with the back cards?

And how much would you pay for custom dolls? I've got my 2nd set of the DotD girls customs that I will eventually part with.

And a couple of other customs that I've been procrastinating with, they will have custom clothing too.

I think the wave 1 dolls you could probably get 30 for. I'm not the best with pricing though so I hope someone else can get of more assistance to you! I have a few that I am desperately looking for, so if you do decide to sell them send me a PM I might be able to take some off your hands :)

It depends on which ones they are. The Dead Tired ones are still available online for retail price, but the Signature ones would easily go for $30 ea.  I know quite a few people on here have been looking for a few of those. Some of the sweet 1600 ones could fetch that much since some are more easily found than others.
If you have a Spectra you'd like to sell please let me know! I've been having a really hard time finding one. :( I have no idea what to price your customs at since I've never seen 'em! :silly:

EDIT: Whoops! Ponyseeker read my mind it seems.

Who all do you have? As was mentioned upthread, the original signature dolls could easily fetch $30. I'd say Spectra would do the same, as well as the single packed boys- 1600 Clawd, DotD Deuce and SS Gil were all pretty HTF and don't seem to be included in current cases. I'd also expect Cupid, DotD Draculaura, and GB Ghoulia to go for more, since they were exclusives, and the latter two are only available in sets.

Signature Abbey's price has dropped a lot since she's recently been re-released, although if you have an original, she tends to go for more. Some of it will depend on the eye placement and her boot-warmers. The newer dolls (Nefera, Operetta, Toralei, etc) will usually go for less; opened, I wouldn't sell for more than retail, simply because they've received decent distribution, and are currently still available in most areas.

I think you'll have a harder time getting that type of price on the basic slim box lines, especially SS and DT; both can still be found at retail for far less, and unopened. GB might go for a bit more, but not much, since most of them are available in the Target exclusive set which has started shipping again.

Of course, some people will pay higher prices if they're in a "dead zone" for dolls. If you don't need the funds immediately, and you want to make back what you put into them, I'd recommend holding off on selling the more common/still available dolls for a bit. New case assortments are coming soon, and by fall, some of those will be the new HTF. Good luck on  whatever you decide to do :)

Thanks for the help.

I've got all the signiture dolls up until the new two pack exclusives (wolf and cat sisters) and all the DotD dolls plus the DT girls minus Clawdeen.

They retail in Australia for $30 :shifty:   . And the DT girls were $20.

None of them have any major faults, maybe an odd lip smear, I'd need to have a good look at them all, but I don't remember any of them with wonky eyes.

Up and including the werewolf sisters??  'Cause if you have them, I'd be super excited to take them off your hands.
