Considering I've *never* seen this issue on a G1 MLP (and I have over 500 of them) I think it was a logical conclusion it was a quality issue?    The hair still isn't quite as good as the original hair, but at least it's passable.   Considering this is supposed to be a new product, how would I be expected to know it was going to require extensive fixing?

I'm not expecting "perfect", I'm merely expecting at least as nice as my vintage ponies with 30 years of play behind them, which I think is perfectly reasonable.

Huh. Well, I don't know what think then. I've never experienced anything that needed what I'd consider "extensive fixing" with dollyhair, and all of my custom ponies certainly have hair at least as nice if not nicer (usually much, much nicer) than my vintage ponies. Maybe you did just get some exceptionally bad hair, because I don't think anyone else has ever reported it as being that big of an issue.

Also keep in mind that most vintage ponies have hair that has been handled, brushed, and possibly washed over the years. That kind of handling is the same thing that sometimes has to be done with the new dollyhair that is factory fresh. And being factory fresh can make all the difference. The hair hasn't had a chance to relax with time and gravity if it's come straight from a spool into a little plastic bag.

Doesn't sound like a quality issue to me. Like others have said, just a product of the manufacturing, and easily fixable.  ^.^

Two rounds of boiling, combing, drying, and two rounds of conditioning, combing, drying doesn't exactly strike me as "easy" but each to his or her own.  I'm not trying to pick a fight here. >_o

I'm aware how much vintage ponies have been handled, despite the fact I'm fairly new to the arena, I've been collecting ponies since before the internet came about.  I still remember the days it'd take long enough for song clips on Dream Valley to load in RealPlayer that you had time to go have cookies and tea!

With a number of MIP ponies in my possession, I can assure you that none of them have the kinky frizzy feel to their hair that the new hanks I received, have.  Nor do the older hanks I have exhibit this issue, despite still being in their original plastic baggies/ties.

Maybe I got a bad batch.  Maybe Canadian customs zapped it with a super powered wavy ray.  I don't know, I couldn't tell you.  :drunk:

What colors did you get that you are having this problem with? Maybe someone else has ordered that color recently and can check in about it?

The worst off were Virgin Snow, Electric Banana and Atomic Turquoise.

I ordered some atomic turquoise and electric banana not too long ago. Maybe in January or February for a pony. Mine was fine. Maybe someone else who has ordered these after you did can confirm if theirs are the same.

Still if the quality is that bad maybe you can ask to exchange it?

Disappointing I have to "fix" the hair before I can use it, but at least it is fixable!
It's a supply like any other - not everything is manufactured to be instantly up to our perfect standards, sometimes things take a little work. No harm in that ^_^  It's certainly not a "quality" issue with dollyhair, that's just the way it's made. The hair you get from DH is about the best quality hair you'll find anywhere. Try using the hair from dollar tree or some cheap kanekalon from a beauty supply and then you'll really have some fixing to do XD

Please note, Tina doesnt manufacture the hair, shes distributator. The manufactor also sells to hasbro, so they make a lot of hair. Not a single batch will be the same. But She has some of the best quality I've seen. I've tried others. If your so upset message her and see if you can return it. If not just do what everyone suguested and it'll be fixed.  :)
