The Tartarus Gate

I know there is a thread about the episodeItsz about time,  but is about that particular place Twilight mentioned, the Tartarus Gate which keeps unspeakable evil that could destroydestroy Equestria.  According to Greek Myth, Tartarus is the name of a deity and a pit where the judged are sent after death.  Does this mean the pony version houses condemned beings that did wrong in Equestria then?  What could possibly be sealed that a guardian who can be led away with a chew toy is between the safety of ponies and certain doom if opened?

Maybe this is where Discord winds up? Could this be how he and others escape for when he returns??

Seems like such an awesome plot device for seeing new villains!

That's what I was thinking, that Discord and other "bad guys" are banished there and maybe they will escape. That would be an awesome episode!

I thought it might be some kind of Eldritch abominations, or perhaps a group of ancient evil warlords. Remember it has to be worse than dixcord, as discord was kept as a lawn ortament, while these monsters were locked away.

Righto! I love mythology, so I'm really hoping that the mention of Tartaru/os will turn out to be more than a brief reference.
