All of my FS G4's are perfect, head/body colour wise. It's because they use the same plastic for the head and body in FS G4's.

Don't keep your G4s in darkness either.

I've ruined like 6+ (some normal brushables and the entire molded hair gift set) by thinking they could last in a drawer. >.< My ponies went from very, very minimal head/body mismatch to mismatch you can notice from across the room in a matter of days sitting in drawers. I also had all my G4s in a bag for less than 24 hours and those on the bottom were affected and had their bodies darken/head lighten or something.

What?! Really?? What if I were going to move or for whatever reason needed to pack up my G4 ponies for a few days/weeks. That is scary ngl.

Yep. I was horrified. That's why I sold my Sweetie Swirl (my only sought after G4). I'm going to have to move cross-country at some point soonish and I already have so many things I need to take extra care with. That pretty much made me stop wanting G4s entirely.

That is horrible!  Sorry to hear that about your ponies, but thank you for sharing.  I was waffling on buying some G4 and now I know to just skip them.

What the heck? Why did the "darkness" do this to them? How are you supposed to store them?

Oh, probably.  The heads and bodies are two different plastics, not to mention that we use "cheaper" plastics in manufacturing than in the 1980's.  If you're concerned about your collection aging, the G1s are probably still going to be the longest-lasting.

Maybe it's from the material your drawer is made from? I have a box of g4s which has been in my closet for months and they're all perfectly fine..

My drawers are made of wood. There's nothing out of the ordinary about them.

Some of my ponies were fine (I have a lot more than 6), but some were most definitely affected. All of the molded hair set (Celestia, Twilight, Pinkie, and AJ I think), Cheerilee (normal release w/forelock), Cheerilee (from the CMC set), Scootaloo (CMC set), and Rainbow Dash (normal release) are the ones I remember off the top of my head with the most dramatic changes. A few others had less noticeable changes.

That is crazy and frightening. Although I remember when i was young my mom told me to line my dresses drawers (wood) with tissue so something bad (can't remember what exactly) wouldn't happen to my clothes if they were stored in there for a long time. Maybe wood leeches/absorbs moisture or something... Anyone have any ideas?

Mine weren't touching the wood at all in one dresser (they were piled on top of a decent amount of stuff), but touching the wood in the other. It didn't make a difference.

Yeah, I was very confused. I still wonder why it happened, but after it happened I started to think maybe the ponies look fine at the factories and shipping them off to be sold is what screws with their head/body match the most. Can't prove anything but its an interesting theory, if nothing else.
