ok so i have re-haired a g4 pony and i want to par the hair in two, to either side of the ponys head, how would you split it? would you cross strands from each side over to the other or would you just split it as the lines go? or do it some other way altogether?

Maybe I'm lazy, but I always split it down the center so that each plug line cleanly goes to the left or right, with no cross over in the part. XD

I would thatch it, as you said, crossing strands from each side over to the other. There are some good video tutorials on thatching doll parts, and it's the same thing.

I wouldn't want to see a bald line of pony head between my pony's pigtails, but that might just be me.

I would cross half of it over to one side, and the other half to the other. That way there isn't a large bald spot in the middle. :)

I agree with thatching - it looks much nicer and the hair always looks fuller
