Did Gusty, Glory and Moondancer all used to be pure white?
« on: March 21, 2012, 08:14:14 AM »
My Moondancer is a very consistent beigey tan, and I always just assumed that was her natural color but now I'm not so sure. Are all of those unicorn ponies supposed to be white, and the ones I've seen are just aged? Thank you, it's for a custom project n_n

Aww. Well, I like Moondancer's creamy coat. It suits her ^_^

Thanks! That means I don't have to do full body repaints.

yup -- they were all white at one point. seems to be a common problem with them and some of the white rainbow ponies :/ poor things.
Im not sure, but I think some have used sunfading to get their color back

I have some tan moondancers too. I think it could be a leaking chemical. If you sunfade them, check them daily. I think these guys could burn to an even more darker color in this condition.

I had great success with a baby Moondancer who was badly yellowed- a few months in my window and she's as white as my baby Glory. :)

Ok... there's "white"...a nd then there's "eggshell white"...

I'm honestly of the opinion... that Moondancer, Glory and Gusty... were all made out of "eggshell white" plastic. Sure it's white... but when held next to WHITE plastic... it has a distinctly "off white" apperance...

for example... Sundance. Even the "off white" Sundances I've found are still WHITE.

Whereas the whitest Gusty/Glory etc... is still more "offwhite" than she is...

yeah... I keep telling my friends... "don't get in a color arguement with an artist...." :devious:
